‘Tis the Season There are many events in the life of your church and many of these events occur during the Advent and Christmas seasons. We are adding a couple of new things this year. This year we will celebrate Advent every Sunday as well as Wednesday evenings. On Wednesdays, beginning December 2nd we will share dinner together with devotions and Christmas carols. We will enjoy a lite dinner of salad and soup, cupcakes and drinks. We will enjoy the season with your favorite Christmas carols and learn of the coming of Jesus in a short devotional. It is a family event meant for young and old. On Christmas Eve we will have two worship services @ 7 pm and 11 pm. At 7 pm Karin McMillen will be singing. The earlier service will be more oriented around family with young and old worshipping the birth of Jesus in our lives. Both services will be candlelight worship services. On Sunday the 20th of December the high school, college and young adult choir will be singing at the 10 am worship service. This will be their very first appearance They will practice Saturday morning, the 19th @ 10 am and Sunday morning before the worship service. There are 6 young people who are committed to singing at the worship service. However, we need more young people. I would like to see 20 young people making a joyful sound in our worship service. Karin will be leading and directing these young people. And don’t forget the other events during this Advent/Christmas season. The youth will be caroling on the 5th• There is the annual Christmas Tea on the 12th. There is the Sunday School Children’s Christmas program on the 13th. And throughout the year we worship each and every Sunday at 10 am in our beautiful sanctuary It is the season of celebration, When we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Christ. It is the season of joy, When we share gifts with family and friends. It is the season of love With God coming into our lives. May it also be the season of peace Where differences are dissolved Where communication is re-established Where brothers and sisters of all humanity Come together to affirm each other. May God be with us to celebrate joy, love and peace. Blessings and Peace
Blessings and Peace, Pastor Laine

Junior Youth Group News
December 2015 Junior Youth Group News Reflections. For many of us, the Lord’s Prayer is something we say each day- maybe even several times in one day. We say it when our life is good, we say it in troubled times and we say it when we need to be reminded of Jesus’ words to his disciples. It grounds us. It leads us. It comforts us. Many of us couldn’t even remember a time we didn’t know it, or even how old we were when we memorized it- it has become a part of us. So when the youth group met last month and we joined hands with the choir to close our meeting with the Lord’s Prayer, a voice pops up and says, “What’s that?” And sadly, he wasn’t the first to ask and I am sure he will not be the last! I, Jamie and Karen thank you, the congregation, for supporting this ministry and hopefully making a difference in the lives of the children in our group. The Junior Youth Group will meet Dec. 2. We will be Christmas caroling on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 1-5pm. If you would like us to stop by your house to hear our melodious voices- please let Jamie, Karen or Christina know by Dec. 2. Evangelism The Evangelism Committee has been meeting and thinking outside of the box of ways to increase our presence in the community and to continually minister to our congregation. We have decided that beginning on Jan. 3, the first Sunday of each month will be designated as “Bring a friend to church” Sunday. There will be no special recognition because we did not want to make anyone uncomfortable- so start thinking about who you are going to ask!. Together in service, Christina Hagan
